Maximilian M. Altmannsberger is a guitarist, multidisciplinary artist, music educator and vinyl DJ whose work brings together musical performance, curatorial practice and visual art.

Born in Landshut, he first completed his training as a state-certified ensemble director before studying classical guitar under Prof. Augustin Wiedemann at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory, with jazz forming an additional focus within his studies. He has received scholarships to attend renowned international festivals and masterclasses.

His musical practice spans a variety of bands and ensembles, as well as solo projects and international collaborations. Working across these different settings, he regularly performs at festivals, as part of concert series and at established cultural venues. His work also includes recordings for ORF and Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR).

 

In 2018, he founded KammerMusik//Session, an interdisciplinary art and concert series at Antiquariat Chybulski in Feldkirch, which he continues to curate. The series has since presented more than 40 editions.

Alongside his work as a musician and music educator in Switzerland, he maintains an independent visual art practice encompassing painting and photography, with a particular focus on ink-based work.

He is also active as a vinyl DJ and performed with the BRIX DJ collective in 2025.
